AP Euro due Monday

1. Familiarize yourself with History of Netherlands by reading various articles on the following website:

2. Two essays are now due Monday (6 and 7 from handout):

• Analyze and discuss the economic, social, and political consequences of Louis XIV’s absolutism in France.
• Analyze and discuss the extent to which the English Civil War and the Glorious Revolution contributed to the rise of constitutionalism in England.

Both essays must not rely only on what was mentioned in class but also independent reading; both essays must have a solid thesis statement and strong evidence backing it up.

What does it mean to “analyze and discuss”:

Analysis is one of the skills that separates AP students from the general student body. AP
essays are not asking you to merely spout information, or to just say what happened, but to point out relationships between events, people, eras, and ideas. When you analyze something, you are to break it down to its most basic components and describe how these components interact.
