Early Results of Parents Survey

We published a citywide survey to find out what is on the minds of NYC parents as the new and uncertain school year approaches. Early results show that NYC parents are extremely anxious about BOTH prospects: exposure to COVID in school and disruption of academic progress without regular school.

• More than 90% of parents do not approve of Mayor’s Hybrid plan for NYC public schools
• Over 60% of parents are extremely anxious about academic disruption their child may suffer in the new school year
• Over 80% of parents are extremely concerned about COVID -19 exposure in school
• Over 80% of parents are looking into other options such as homeschooling

While these results are quite preliminary, they still quite revealing.
