Redo class essay discussing ways one of the stories that we read in class could be adapted for the big screen.

Essay can be written from various angles and perspectives: it may discuss the difficulties with adaptation; it may focus on changes that will have to be made to the story in order to work in the film medium; it may elaborate on why the story will be great as a movie, etc.

What your essay must include is specifics: specifics about the setting, the characters, the plot, etc. It must discuss the differences between the media i.e. novel vs movie. If a majority of the story consists of the narrator’s thoughts, discuss how these may be reworked into the movie – should your movie include background narration or can the character’s thoughts be rewritten as dialogue? What about the conflict in the story? How would the scriptwriter rewrite the story to heighten the conflict for the viewers? Look over the story, read the important scenes in again. Otherwise your essay will not come out thorough or thoughtful.

Only well thought out, well constructed and coherent essays will be accepted; in other words: no half effort just to get it done.
